Q. What do you do with my t-shirts to make a quilt? A.Your freshly washed T-shirts are ironed to a fusible backing before being sewn into your quilt, preventing stretching and improving the beauty and longevity of your quilt. This process also fills in any small holes and prevents runs in your very well-loved shirts. Next your shirts are made into quilt blocks, sewn together with 100% cotton sashing and borders. But the quilt isn't done yet! In the third step, your quilt is basted to 100% cotton batting and a 100% cotton quilt backing. The whole quilt is then machine quilted, NOT TIED with free motion quilting around each shirt and straight-stitch quilting around each square. Finally, your quilt is bound with double-fold fabric binding, hand-stitched in place and machine top-stitched for added durability and a quilt label is stitched to the back memorializing the birth date of your t-shirt quilt. |

Q. How do you layout a quilt using my t-shirts? A. If you have selected a sashing/border color, I will use that color fabric in the design. If you have not specified a sashing/border color, I will make the best design choice given the predominant colors in your t-shirts. in laying out the t-shirt squares, I take care to distribute the colors of the t-shirts and their designs to make an appealing quilt. I ensure the t-shirt designs in each square are aligned correctly, centered and straight. |

Q. What's in my t-shirt quilt? A. Your t-shirt quilt contains 100% cotton fabric for sashing, borders and backing. The batting is 100% cotton as well to accentuate the machine quilting and give your quilt a professional look that lasts. The price you pay includes EVERYTHING necessary to create a treasure for today and an heirloom for tomorrow. |

I do not just sew t-shirts together. This produces a quilt with style and longevity. Third, your quilt is machine-quilted NOT TIED for greater strength. Many quilt companies charge extra for this service.
